Professor Thomas Schalow's Conference Presentations

Conference Overviews

I focus on four types of conferences: conferences that deal with broad educational issues, conferences that are focused on English language instruction, conferences that focus on culture and language, and conferences that focus on technology and its use in an educational environment.

2007

On May 5, 2007 I was in Glasgow, Scotland to present a paper on "A Global Curriculum Made in Hollywood: The New Lingua Franca in Education" for the International Cultural Research Network (ICRN). I enjoyed meeting many new friends at this conference, and was able to record some of the presentations. Here are the Flash presentations for our keynote presentation by Professor Brian Boyd (1) (2) and (3), as well as presentations by Professors Ross Deuchar and Henry Maitles (1) (2) and (3) , Maria Parker and Brenda Imber (1) (2) and (3) , Josephine Pallard and Valeria Palladino (1) (2) and (3) and a discussion of the problems of the "new student" (1) (2) and (3). The conference program can be found here in pdf format.
